Hempstead Lake State Park

Hempstead Lake State Park offers many amenities and activities for the whole family. In addition to fishing, visitors can enjoy swimming, biking and picnicking.

The park has 18 tennis courts, 6 dedicated pickleball courts (with an additional 4 pickleball courts added to 2 hard surface tennis courts), children’s playgrounds, basketball courts, bridle trails for horseback riding, hiking and biking trails, shaded picnic areas and a historic hand carved wooden carousel.

Hempstead Lake State Park also has a pond with three fishing piers that provide visitors with access to small boats, canoes or kayaks. The ponds, which are located at the south and east ends of Hempstead Lake, are stocked with trout in the fall and a variety of fish including large mouth bass, chain pickerel, black crappe, perch and tiger muskies throughout the winter months.

Halls Pond Park

The sanctuary, which is administered by the Brookline Conservation Commission, consists of a pond, wetlands, an upland area, and a formal garden.
